May 2025 reviews on Bluesky

Here are the micro-reviews I’ve posted on Bluesky for the period (various news and links have also been posted):

The Beauty Salon, by Quentin Zuttion.
An adaptation of a book by Mexican writer en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_B…, an AIDS metaphor with a strong magical realism bend.

To Broadway, by Maurane Mazars.
The English version of a French GN, set in the late 50s. It follows a young, gay German dancer who's torn between the high art of modern dance in Europe and the popular art of American Broadway shows, which hold personal meaning.

Summer Shadows by @johnharrisdunning.bsky.social and Ricardo Cabral.

Minor Arcana Vol. 1, by Jeff Lemire (creator of Sweet Tooth).
A new ongoing series which follows Theresa, a lesbian who goes back to her hometown to take care of her sick, tarot-reading, distant mother.

Dancing on the volcano, by Floor de Goede.
A thick autobiographical graphic novel by a Dutch artist, following his life with and without his boyfriend. The humor is dry and the observations both low-key and pitiless.
