Back in 2006 and 2009, publisher Bruno Gmünder had released two anthologies of gay art, entitled Stripped and Stripped: Uncensored. The first book is now out-of-print, but the publisher has had the good idea to release a collection of the two books, under the title of Completely Stripped. Alongside a new cover by Ismael Alvarez, you get 600 pages of gay art by about a hundred artists. I’ll let you read my original reviews to see excerpts, but I can say again that the breadth of art styles is dazzling, as is the general quality. This would definitely make a nice gift. Or a weapon against an unfaithful boyfriend. “Death by Stripped” does have a certain ring to it, it seems to me.
This fat, thick book is now available, for example from Amazon.
