My second YBIL story
May I do some self-promotion with this site? I hope you won't mind. Some time ago, I'd written a story for the gay comics online anthology Young Bottoms in Love. That fairytale had been beautifully drawn by Brett Hopkins. And now my second story, The Quirks and the Dead, has been drawn in a very different style by Adam Leveille... Since it's Halloween week, expect some unusual twists. To be read one page at a time over this week. And then come back and tell me what you think!

Review update

The Cavalcade of Boys #9
Author(s):
Tim Fish.
And here is Tim Fish's latest (and maybe last) issue of his series The Cavalcade of Boys. Tim Fish seems to want to branch out, and he gives some of his characters a sense of closure - including a definitive closure for one who dies, in a very nasty and very funny story. Another story sees Warren, a high-energy recurring character, get his comeuppance when a guy he'd tricked come back... and confess his love for Warren! The last story showcases Eric, the young guy from previous issues, and the choice he makes between a roommate of his and Tighe, whom he's been going out with for a few months. Romance fills the air, and Fish's art, as expressive as ever, gives us a large array of gay guys, with a majority of rather slender bodies it must be said. As sad as I am to see Tim Fish deciding to (at least for now) stop this series, I'm glad that he wants to keep on diversifying his work. And you can see him often in the Young Bottoms in Love online anthology.

True Adult Fantasy
Brad Rader is, with Joe Phillips, a good example of a fairly well-known mainstream comics artist who's decided to show his more personal work. In the case of Rader, erotic sketches and stories. His True Adult Fantasy magazines are a lot of fun, and the art is sensual and alive. Read my review.

Kyle's Bed & Breakfast
Here's a review of the collection of Greg Fox's Kyle's Bed & Breakfast strips. Entertaining and often moving, it's another good example of something that comes from a personal, and not a corporate, sensibility.
