A.A.R.G.H.!: The Gaiman/Talbot contribution

A panel from the stripI'm extremely happy to be able to show you the Neil Gaiman/Bryan Talbot contribution to the A.A.R.G.H.! (Artists Against Rampant Government Homophobia) anthology, published and edited in 1988 by Alan Moore to protest the infamous British Clause 28. You might remember that last year, Top Shelf published the moving Mirror of Love, Alan Moore, Steve Bissette and Rick Veitch's eight-page story for A.A.R.G.H.!, this time as a hardback book with Moore's prose, with beautiful photographs by José Villarrubia.
Neil Gaiman was easy to contact through his website (he agreed to my request for his strip very quickly, I might add), and thanks to James Robertson, who maintains the very good Bryan Talbot fan-site, I also received the artist's permission to put this 4-page strip online. Gaiman and Talbot story, From Homogenous to Honey, is a very powerful parabole, where all trace of diversity is eradicated in a culture. Chilling, and hopefully not premonitory. You can read it here.

Cavalcade of Boys collected

First book coverFor those of you who've missed the comic book format version of Tim Fish's excellent series Cavalcade of Boys, the author is going to self-publish three books collecting the entire 9-issue run of the series. Two are already available, with the third to follow in May, and they're sold at a very interesting price on Tim Fish's website (book 1 & book 2 also available from Mars Import). Digest-sized, with some all-new stuff, those volumes should make great gifts, and Fish definitely deserves to find a wider audience which I hope professionally-printed books will bring him.
